Jason Jackson is an autistic and bipolar advocate who shares his experiences of life on the spectrum through personal storytelling. His writing explores the challenges, discoveries, and perspectives that shape his life, offering readers an honest glimpse into his world and a deeper understanding of the experiences that make each of us unique.
My name is Jason Jackson and I’m the author of My Life Inspiring Journal. The book took about three months to put together with help from Daniel Akpojiyovwi of danieldigitals.com in Nigeria (formerly danielbookdesign.com) and Pamela Greer in Idaho. I am grateful to them for their help in making this book a reality. Also, I am autistic and bipolar though not necessarily all at the same time.
I’ve learned over time to emphasize my abilities over my limitations. My book describes the struggle I have to not be defined by my disabilities, but to find solace that everyone struggles with something. Did you know that one in 44 kids has autism, that’s 2.3% of the population and that twenty million people are parents to an autistic child. On the other hand 4.4% struggle with bipolar.
Teasing out the differences and similarities can be challenging. In my book I use Ramsey as a fictitious character modeled after myself and conversations with my Dad when he was alive. I try to wrap the two disabilities into one thread with a “real, and touching account” of how I felt as a burgeoning adult. I am in the process of writing a second book more focused on the mental “inner thoughts” that other people might have. I hope you will be on the lookout for this book also.
To keep my site and my work accessible in advocating for individuals living with autism, support from willing donors is appreciated. Your contributions play a crucial role in covering the costs of publishing and raising awareness about autism and mental health challenges. Together, we can make a meaningful impact in the lives of many. More About Jason →
